WHAT IS HIP IMPINGEMENT?
Hip impingement is a general term to describe the conditions of femoroacetabular impingement, hip labrum tears, and cam & pincer impingement. Stated simply, it is a painful condition where joint connecting the bones of the thigh and hip becomes irritated and causes pain with sports and daily life. This pain is often severe and unfortunately, few in the medical world are skilled in providing high quality care for individuals suffering from hip impingement, so they suffer for years before finding relief.
At Onward Atlanta, we specialize in providing relief to those dealing with chronic hip impingement and would love the opportunity to help those wanting to regain their freedom of movement without surgeries, injections, or wasting time with ineffective treatments.
Don’t just take our word for it
I saw Monique for a running-related injury. As I am a competitive level triathlete, I was very particular and picky about who I trusted with my rehabilitation and performance training, because I had a lot riding on the line. Because of our hard work together, I was able to place higher than ever before in my competition. Highly recommended!
I had progressively worsening hip pain that I saw numerous providers for, without much success. Dr. Cofino was able to take a thorough and detailed oriented approach to assessing my body unlike any other provider had. She was able to get me back to activities I loved (running, hiking, weight lifting), but more than that, she was able to get me better and stronger than I was before my injury!
